Open Access Policy

Immediate Open Access

The Indian Journal of Engineering and Technology (IJET), published by PhD Kro, India, is committed to promoting unrestricted access to scholarly research and technological knowledge. The journal follows an immediate open-access publishing model under which all published articles are freely available online without subscription fees, mandatory reader registration, or embargo periods. Readers worldwide may access, read, download, distribute, and reuse published research in accordance with the applicable open-access licence. This approach supports the dissemination of scientific knowledge, academic collaboration, technological innovation, and wider participation in engineering and interdisciplinary research.

Open Access Licensing

All scholarly articles published in IJET are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence, unless specific third-party material is explicitly identified as excluded. This licence permits readers to copy, share, distribute, reproduce, and adapt published works in any medium or format, including for commercial purposes, provided appropriate credit is given to the original authors, a link to the licence is supplied, and any modifications are clearly indicated. Users must not impose additional legal or technological restrictions that prevent others from exercising the rights granted by the licence. The applicable licensing information is displayed with each published article to ensure transparency and responsible reuse.

Authors retain copyright ownership of their original scholarly contributions published in the Indian Journal of Engineering and Technology. By accepting the journal’s publishing agreement, authors grant IJET and its publisher, PhD Kro, a non-exclusive licence to publish, reproduce, distribute, communicate, and make their accepted articles publicly accessible. Authors retain the right to share, deposit, distribute, and reuse their work in accordance with the CC BY 4.0 licence and the applicable publishing agreement. This arrangement protects authors’ intellectual contributions while facilitating the unrestricted dissemination and lawful reuse of published research.

Reader Rights and Reuse Permissions

Readers, researchers, educators, students, engineers, and other users may freely access and reuse articles published in IJET without requesting separate permission from the journal or publisher for activities permitted under CC BY 4.0. Such activities may include academic teaching, research, translation, redistribution, adaptation, and incorporation into other scholarly or professional works. Appropriate acknowledgement of the original authors, publication source, and applicable licence is required. Reuse must not falsely imply endorsement by the original authors, journal, or publisher. The journal encourages responsible citation and accurate representation of published research.

Third-Party Content and Permissions

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submitted manuscripts comply with applicable copyright and intellectual property requirements. Figures, photographs, maps, datasets, illustrations, software, and other third-party materials may require permission from their respective copyright holders before publication. Where third-party content is excluded from the article’s CC BY 4.0 licence, the relevant restrictions must be clearly identified through appropriate credit lines or copyright notices. Readers intending to reuse excluded materials must obtain additional permission where legally required. Authors must disclose any relevant copyright restrictions during manuscript submission.

Article Processing Charges and Editorial Independence

The journal’s open-access model ensures that readers are not required to pay subscription or access fees to obtain published scholarly content. Any applicable Article Processing Charges (APCs), additional publication fees, payment procedures, or exemptions are governed by the journal’s separately published Article Processing Charges Policy. All applicable charges must be disclosed transparently to authors. Editorial screening, peer review, and manuscript acceptance decisions are based exclusively on scholarly merit, originality, methodological quality, technical relevance, and research integrity. Financial considerations do not influence the academic evaluation or acceptance of manuscripts.

Accessibility and Scholarly Dissemination

IJET seeks to ensure that published research remains accessible to the academic community and the wider public through its official publishing platform. Each published article is presented through an individual webpage containing relevant bibliographic information and access to the full text. The journal supports accurate citation, responsible scholarly sharing, and transparent documentation of corrections, retractions, and other post-publication updates. Formal digital preservation services, persistent identifiers, and repository partnerships will be identified publicly only when verified and operational.

Policy Implementation and Compliance

The Open Access Policy applies to articles published under IJET’s adopted CC BY 4.0 publishing model. The journal’s Copyright and Licensing Policy, author publishing agreement, article webpages, and published article files shall communicate the applicable copyright ownership and licensing conditions consistently. Authors and readers are expected to comply with the attribution and reuse requirements of the licence. Any future changes to the journal’s open-access arrangements will be communicated transparently without altering the existing CC BY 4.0 rights granted for previously published articles.
