Article Types and Manuscript

Overview

The Indian Journal of Engineering and Technology (IJET), published by PhD Kro, India, accepts original scholarly contributions covering engineering, technology, applied sciences, and related interdisciplinary research. The journal welcomes experimental, theoretical, computational, analytical, and application-orientated studies that advance technical knowledge or address practical engineering challenges. Manuscripts should demonstrate originality, methodological soundness, technical relevance, and a meaningful contribution to their respective disciplines.

Original Research Articles

Original research articles present new scientific findings, experimental investigations, engineering designs, computational models, or innovative technological applications. Manuscripts should clearly describe the research objectives, relevant literature, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusions. The findings must be supported by appropriate evidence, analysis, and interpretation.

Recommended Length: 25,00–8,000 words.

Review Articles

Review Articles provide critical and comprehensive evaluations of existing research, technological developments, engineering methodologies, or emerging scientific challenges. Submissions should offer a structured synthesis of relevant literature, identify research gaps, assess current developments, and suggest meaningful directions for future investigation. Systematic reviews and bibliometric studies are welcome when supported by transparent and appropriate research methods.

Recommended Length: 3,000–10,000 words.

Short Communications

Short Communications present concise but significant research findings, preliminary technological advances supported by adequate evidence, or focused methodological improvements. These contributions should communicate a clearly defined scientific or technical outcome without requiring the length of a full research article. Findings must be sufficiently documented to allow meaningful editorial and scholarly evaluation.

Recommended Length: 1,500–3,000 words.

Technical and Methodological Papers

Technical and Methodological Papers describe the development, improvement, validation, or practical application of engineering techniques, computational tools, experimental procedures, algorithms, or technological systems. Manuscripts should explain the proposed approach, its technical basis, evaluation procedures, performance, limitations, and potential applications. Claims of improvement should be supported by appropriate testing, comparison, or validation.

Recommended Length: 2,000–6,000 words.

Engineering Case Studies

Engineering Case Studies examine practical engineering problems, technological implementations, industrial processes, infrastructure systems, or applied innovations within clearly defined contexts. Submissions should provide adequate technical background, describe the methods employed, evaluate measurable outcomes, and explain the broader relevance of the findings. Case studies must offer transferable scholarly or technical insights rather than merely describing individual projects.

Recommended Length: 2,500–5,000 words.

Interdisciplinary Research

IJET also considers interdisciplinary manuscripts integrating engineering and technology with fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Healthcare, Agriculture, Renewable Energy, and Geospatial Technologies. Such manuscripts must demonstrate a substantial engineering or technological contribution. Interdisciplinary submissions should be classified under the most appropriate article category listed above.

Manuscript Length and Presentation

The recommended word limits provide general guidance and exclude references, tables, figure captions, and supplementary materials. Longer manuscripts may be considered when justified by the complexity and scientific significance of the research, subject to editorial approval. Authors should prepare manuscripts in clear academic English, follow the journal’s Instructions for Authors, and use IEEE referencing. Tables, figures, equations, and technical illustrations must be relevant, accurately presented, and appropriately referenced.

Editorial Assessment and Peer Review

All submitted research manuscripts undergo initial editorial screening to assess their suitability, originality, technical quality, and compliance with journal requirements. Manuscripts considered suitable for further evaluation proceed through the journal’s declared peer review process. Research articles submitted to special issues are subject to the same scholarly standards as regular submissions. Editorial materials, corrections, and other non-research content may follow an appropriate editorial assessment procedure, clearly distinguished from external peer review.

Publication Standards

Manuscripts must represent original scholarly work and comply with the journal’s publication ethics, copyright, and research integrity requirements. Previously published work, duplicate submissions, promotional material, unsupported technical claims, and inadequately documented studies are not eligible for consideration. Each published contribution is identified by its appropriate article type to maintain clarity and transparency in the scholarly record.
