Authorship and Contribution Policy

Authorship and Contribution Policy

Authorship Criteria

The Indian Journal of Engineering and Technology (IJET), published by PhD Kro, India, recognizes authorship as both scholarly credit and responsibility. Every listed author must have made a substantial intellectual contribution, participated in drafting or critically revising the manuscript, approved its final version, and agreed to be accountable for the integrity of their work. Gift, ghost, honorary, and coerced authorship are not permitted.

1

Contribution

Substantial intellectual involvement in the research

2

Manuscript

Writing or critically revising scholarly content

3

Approval

Approval of the final manuscript

4

Accountability

Responsibility for research integrity

Author Contribution Statement

Authors must provide a clear contribution statement describing each individual’s role. IJET encourages the use of the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT) to identify research responsibilities. Contribution roles help clarify participation but do not independently establish eligibility for authorship.

Conceptualization Methodology Investigation Formal Analysis Software Data Curation Writing Supervision Funding Acquisition
Contribution Example

Author A: Conceptualization and methodology; Author B: Investigation and formal analysis; Author C: Writing, review, and editing. All authors reviewed and approved the final manuscript.

Corresponding Author Responsibilities

The corresponding author coordinates manuscript submission, editorial correspondence, revisions, and publication declarations. They must confirm that all co-authors have approved the submission, authorship order, relevant declarations, and final publication version. The journal may contact individual authors to verify their consent or contributions.

Changes in Authorship

Requests to add, remove, or reorder authors after submission must include a written explanation and agreement from all affected authors, including any author being added or removed. Editors may request further evidence or institutional clarification if disputes arise. Authorship changes are not made solely on the instruction of one author.

Authorship Verification Workflow

Step 1 — Identify Contributors Determine individual research contributions
Step 2 — Confirm Authorship Eligibility Verify contribution, writing, approval and accountability
Step 3 — Record Contributions Provide authorship order and contribution statements
Step 4 — Obtain Author Approval All authors approve the manuscript and declarations
Step 5 — Manuscript Submission Corresponding author submits through the online system

Authorship Change Workflow

Written Change Request Provide justification and proposed changes
Author Consent Obtain agreement from all affected authors
Editorial Verification Examine supporting information and resolve concerns
Editorial Outcome Approve the change or hold it pending resolution

Acknowledgements and Disputes

Contributors who do not meet authorship criteria may be acknowledged with their permission. Financial support, routine technical assistance, or administrative supervision alone does not establish authorship. Authorship disputes are assessed fairly, and institutional clarification may be sought where necessary. Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors.
